Liqui Moly Pro-Line Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner particulate filter cleaner

Liqui Moly Pro-Line Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner is a liquid for cleaning clogged diesel particulate filters in cars without removing them. It dissolves hardened, dense and crusted contaminants on the filter surface. The cleaning loosens the soot enough and spreads it through the filter so that it burns off during normal regeneration.

Usage

You apply the cleaner with the DPF pressure-tank spray gun (part no. 7946) and the DPF probe with five exchangeable tips developed for this job (part no. 7945). Create access to the particulate filter in the way the vehicle type requires: on most vehicles you remove the filter's temperature or pressure sensor. The particulate filter temperature must be below 40 °C during cleaning. On some vehicles the filter sits near the exhaust manifold or turbocharger rather than under the floor: take particular care with these so that no cleaning or flushing liquid reaches the combustion chamber through an open exhaust valve.

Insert the Pro-Line spray probe that suits the vehicle type into the filter through the opening. Spray the whole 1 L of cleaner directly onto the filter surface in several bursts of 5-10 seconds, each followed by a 5-10 second pause, at a working pressure of 6-8 bar. Turn the probe and move it back and forth while cleaning to cover the surface as fully as possible. Wait about 15 minutes for the cleaner to work. Then flush the filter with the whole 500 ml of DPF flushing agent, using the same pressure-tank spray gun and the same intervals. After the sensor is refitted, the service or workshop must start a regeneration as the vehicle maker instructs.
