Description
Technicqll Universal Epoxy Putty is a two-component epoxy putty that bonds and levels almost any material: steel, cast iron, aluminium, stainless steel and other metals, glass, ceramics, porcelain, concrete, stone, brick, cork, wood, wood-based materials and plastics. It is made for use at home, in car workshops and in industry. It is not for bonding polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE) or PTFE.
Use it to bond cracked plastic bumpers, covers and dashboards, fill gaps in stone, mend flower pots, vases and figurines, rebuild missing parts such as a screwdriver handle, fix hooks and hinges torn out of furniture or a wall, reseat wall plugs that have pulled out and repair roof tiles. Once cured, the putty is chemically resistant to water, oil, petrol and dilute acids, protects metal parts against corrosion and insulates electrically. You can then drill, tap, file, sand and paint it.
Directions
- Clean the surfaces to be joined, for example with sandpaper, and remove all oil and dirt.
- Use the putty at temperatures above +10 °C, and let components A and B warm to room temperature before mixing.
- Take equal amounts of resin (component A) and hardener (component B), a 1:1 ratio by volume, and knead them between your hands for about 5 minutes until the colour is even.
- Use the mix within 5 minutes, and mix only as much as you can use in that time.
- Apply the putty to the surfaces to be joined or repaired and leave them undisturbed for at least 45 minutes.
- After about 12 hours you can machine the joint or repair.
- You can shorten the repair time by warming the bonded spot with hot air.
- Coat hard-to-bond surfaces first with a thin layer of liquid epoxy adhesive (for example E-358) and let it dry.
