Description

Technicqll Plumbing Epoxy Putty is a two-component epoxy putty for repairing leaking water systems, sewers and central heating systems. It bonds and seals wet surfaces, and you can repair with it even under water. It bonds metal, glass, ceramics, porcelain, concrete, stone, brick, cork, wood, wood-based materials and plastics, and it also fills damaged spots. It is not for bonding polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE) or PTFE.

Use it to repair pipelines, heat exchangers, central heating radiators (for example at the water inlet), refrigerating units and siphons, leaking water pipes under a washbasin, boiler supply and drain pipes, and garden taps. After full cure the putty resists water, oil, petrol, dilute acids, alkalis and solvents. Once cured, you can paint, drill, tap, file and sand it.

Directions

  • Clean the surfaces to be joined, for example with sandpaper, and remove all oil and dirt.
  • Use the putty at temperatures above +10 °C, and let components A and B warm to room temperature before mixing.
  • Take equal amounts of resin (component A) and hardener (component B), a 1:1 ratio by volume, and knead them between your hands for about 5 minutes until the colour is even.
  • Use the mix within 10 minutes, and mix only as much as you can use in that time.
  • Release the pressure from the section you are repairing.
  • Apply the putty to the surfaces to be joined or repaired and leave them undisturbed for at least 45 minutes.
  • After about 12 hours you can machine the joint or repair.
  • You can shorten the repair time by warming the bonded spot with hot air.
  • Coat hard-to-bond surfaces first with a thin layer of liquid epoxy adhesive (for example E-358) and let it dry.
