Description

Technicqll Metal Epoxy Putty is a two-component epoxy putty containing metal powders, also known as cold welding. It is made for rebuilding small engine parts, sealing leaks and filling cracks and voids in metal damaged by cracking, wear or rust. It bonds all metals and their alloys (aluminium, steel, cast iron, brass, bronze) as well as glass, ceramics, porcelain, concrete, stone, wood and brick. It is not for bonding polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE) or PTFE.

Use it to repair worn keyways and guides, cracked castings and pumps, worn bearing seats and splines, and to rebuild threads, small parts and machine elements, agricultural machinery included. The putty conducts heat and does not shrink as it cures. Once cured, you can machine it and cut threads in it.

Directions

  • Clean the surfaces to be joined, for example with sandpaper, and remove all oil and dirt.
  • Use the putty at temperatures above +10 °C, and let components A and B warm to room temperature before mixing.
  • Take equal amounts of resin (component A) and hardener (component B), a 1:1 ratio by volume, and knead them between your hands for about 5 minutes until the colour is even.
  • Use the mix within 10 minutes, and mix only as much as you can use in that time.
  • Apply the putty to the surfaces to be joined or repaired and leave them undisturbed for at least 45 minutes.
  • After about 12 hours you can machine the joint or repair.
  • You can shorten the repair time by warming the bonded spot with hot air.
  • Coat hard-to-bond surfaces first with a thin layer of liquid epoxy adhesive (for example E-358) and let it dry.
