Description
Technicqll Fiberglass Net is a mesh of special glass fabric for the internal reinforcement of bonded joints and surfaces. It is made for reinforcing parts repaired with epoxy adhesives (epoxy glue, epoxy putty) and epoxy resins. The net does not react with the chemical components of adhesives, is alkali resistant, and reduces temperature-induced deformation and creep at elevated temperatures. Thin-walled castings made of Epoxy Standard E-402 become three times stiffer with the net.
Use it to repair pipeline leaks, cracks and pits, to fill missing material, and to reinforce fillet joints and castings so that they are stiffer and keep their dimensions.
Glass fibre starts to lose strength at 400 °C and oxidises at 600 °C. The net can also be used with Technicqll thermal adhesive 1200 °C (R-457), because the cured adhesive protects the fibre from oxidation.
Use
- Cut the net to a size and shape that covers the repair area with a margin of about 1 cm. Wear protective gloves when cutting to keep glass particles off your hands.
- Apply a thin layer of adhesive to the part you are repairing.
- Lay the net on the adhesive and press it down until it sinks into the adhesive.
- Apply another layer of adhesive and level the surface.
- Let it dry.
- For wider repairs, lay pieces of net side by side with an overlap of 2-3 cm.
