Laser Tools CO2 leak detector

With the Laser Tools CO2 leak detector you check petrol and diesel engines for cracked cylinder heads, blockages, blown head gaskets and similar faults. When a head gasket blows or a cylinder block cracks, combustion gases, that is carbon dioxide (CO2), get into the cooling system, and the detector shows them.

You fit the detector to the coolant filler neck of the running engine. With the rubber bulb you draw the gases from the top of the filler bottle through the test fluid. If the gases contain CO2, the fluid turns green, which points to a blown head gasket or a similar fault.

A cone adaptor and fluid come with the detector. Replacement fluid is a separate product, Laser Tools part no. 5526.
