How it gets to you
Description
Vibrofiltr bitumen mat is a vibration-damping material based on butyl rubber, with an aluminium foil layer. You use it to build an insulating and vibration-damping layer in a car, and anywhere else that needs sound insulation and protection against vibration and corrosion.
The mat is self-adhesive and flexible, so it goes onto flat and complex-shaped surfaces alike, and it needs no heating when you fit it. It is waterproof, seals and protects against corrosion. The material has a multilayer structure: a layer of butyl rubber compound and aluminium foil. Vibrofiltr uses a high-viscosity aluminium foil, which gives the material a wider frequency range of the mechanical loss coefficient (MLC).
