Description

The Laser Tools Diagnostic Smoke Leak Detector Kit produces smoke in a controlled way so you can search for air and vacuum leaks. Use it to find leaks in inlet manifold pipework, plenum tubes, turbo pipes, intercoolers and their pipes, exhaust systems, EVAP systems, engine breather pipes and vehicle door seals.

The unit has a built-in pressure gauge, an adjustable pressure regulator and a flow gauge, so you can pressurise the system under test when needed. It is powered by the vehicle's 12 V battery. To make smoke it runs on smoke machine oil (Laser Tools product code 62460) or ordinary baby oil. Use it in a well-ventilated area.

To check vehicle door seals, work from outside the vehicle with the heater fans inside running on full. The kit can be used with the Laser Tools turbo system tester set (product code 7981).
